Desert Island Fishing - Fishables (2016)

2016 pixel art work from my internship at Springloaded Games. These were the "fishables" sprites I illustrated for their fishing game, Desert Island Fishing. Not all of the sprites made it into the game, but I did see some of these in the game trailer on the Android store, as well as the game logo I made.

The fishables are meant to be a commentary on environmental pollution as well as reference pop culture, videogames and everyday items. It was quite a challenge to try to confine most of the fishables to the chunky blocky style we were going for, but got a hang of it in the end. At the time in 2016 (age 19), I worked on 5-6 sprites a day, while the full-time artists there were twice as fast.
